The choice of mahogany for the soffit and structural post is a deliberate material selection, balancing aesthetic warmth with resilience against New England's climate. This hardwood, known for its stability and rich color, is meticulously milled and sealed to withstand environmental exposure while maintaining its refined finish. The integration of recessed lighting within the soffit provides functional illumination, highlighting the texture of the wood and guiding visitors towards the entrance after dusk.
